ALL motor insurance and takaful companies in Malaysia have integrated their systems with the ISM No Claim Discount (NCD) system for motor insurance.

With the new system, consumers no longer need to show proof of their NCD when buying motor insurance as all systems are linked to the central database and will automatically provide the eligible NCD based on the effective date of the new policy.

The integration includes all companies and Malaysian Motor Insurance Pool (MMIP) as well as involving all distribution channels such as counter, agency, car dealers and POS Malaysia.

Consumers can verify their NCD online at www.carprices.com.my (free of charge) or via SMS by sending ISMNCD<space><VEHICLE NUMBER><space><IC Number> to 36600 (RM2.00).

"A complete list of insurers and takaful company customer contact numbers are also available via the ISM website www.ism.net.my," said ISM Insurance Services Malaysia Bhd chief executive officer Carl Rajendram.
