Reminders to renew licences for motorists
THE STAR - Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

BATU PAHAT: Reminders will be sent to motorists on the expiry date of their driving licence and road tax.

Road Transport Department director-general Datuk Solah Mat Hassan said motorists now had no reason to say they had forgotten about their expired licence and tax.

“This is one of our service to the people,” he told reporters at the opening ceremony of the department’s RM2.6mil branch in Sri Gading here yesterday.

He urged the people to renew their driving licences or road taxes upon receiving the notices.

The department has sent out notices to 500,000 driving licence holders and 800,000 vehicle owners for this month.

He also said by end of the year, all of the department’s 68 offices could provide full services to the public.

At present, only 30% of the offices were equipped to handle the full range of services.
