It was a night of glitz and glamour as the best and brightest Kurnia achievers attended the Kurnia's Agency Awards Presentation & Dinner 2005. The series of award presentations started off in 14 different locations throughout Malaysia between July 17th, 2005 and reached its peak on 27th August, 2005 at the Sunway Resort Hotel, Petaling Jaya. It was certainly an apt venue as the top Klang Valley and National achievers were awarded for their accomplished and exceptional achievements in the different categories.

Running in its 6th year, the extensive award ceremony has gained reputation in saluting Kurnia's finest agents from around the country. The awards mainly fall into two categories: the National Award and the State Award. State Awards such as MRP (Million Ringgit Producer), Top 3 State Non Motor, Top 10 State Overall and Top 3 State Service Providers were presented at their respective states. Meanwhile, the National Awards which consisted of the Top 10 National Overall Producer Award, Top 5 National Non-Motor Producers, Institutional Awards and the exclusive Chairman's Challenge Trophy were presented at the Sunway Resort Hotel.

This year's awards ceremony included 2 brand new award categories - the Star Producer and Special Award for MediGuard which rewarded agents on their non-motor business and medical insurance business respectively. Mr. Ng Eow Cheang of Penang was the first to be awarded the Special Award for MediGuard. The top achiever for the National Non-Motor award went to AGF Insurance Agencies who has thus far won this award for the fourth year in a row.

Once again, the prestigious Chairman's Challenge Trophy went to none other than Mr. Yap Thim Po of YTP Enterprise who has produced more than RM7 million gross premiums in the last financial year. Tan Sri S. K. Kua, Kurnia's Executive Chairman, graced the event whilst being accompanied by Kurnia Insurans' Executive Director Dato' Quah Teong Moo and Mr. Kong Shu Yin, Chief Executive Officer on stage to present the exclusive trophy to the defending champion, Mr. Yap Thim Po with the Chairman's Challenge Trophy. This was soon followed by a "Yam Seng" toasting ceremony on stage by the EXCO, SMC and Senior Management Team while being livened up by our entertaining emcees, Ronald Fernandez and Tan Chun Lynn.

There was never a dull moment throughout the night as the exciting performances and vibrant emcees both brought non-stop fun and remembrance to the splendid night. Congratulations to all achievers and best wishes to everyone present. See you again next year!

To date, Kurnia has a total of 7,100 agents nationwide including 167 MRPs, 266 Gold Producers and 704 Silver Producers. The SMC would also like to take this opportunity to thank the working committee for their diligent effort in making the nationwide events a success.
